All The King's Horses proposes a family of new benches for a church cemetry. The benches evoke columns that have fallen to the ground and either broken or been damaged in the process. Some are curved, some truncated and one forms an almost complete circle. Chunks cut out of the columns allow them to be used as seats.

The benches are to be made from cast terrazzo in a variety of pale, pastel colours that link the them together visually. They have been designed to require minimal maintenance, be robust and heard-wearing and to age well in their environment. They also subtly evoke traditions of funereal architecture whilst remaining firmly contemporary and of their own time.
